Our Story
It all started at Rutgers University. Robert Olivera and Steven Ruda met during their freshman year in the Computer Science program, bonding over late-night coding sessions and a shared love for building things that actually work. By junior year they were freelancing together, spinning up side projects, winning hackathons, and picking up small web jobs for friends and family.
After graduation, they both noticed something that bothered them: the local businesses back home in Monmouth County were being drastically underserved. The neighborhood deli, the family dentist, the boutique on Broad Street, they were either stuck with outdated websites from 2010 or paying $10,000+ to agencies that treated them like an afterthought. There had to be a better way.
That's why they started Simply Site Up. The idea was simple: combine real engineering talent with genuine care for the local community. No bloated contracts, no cookie-cutter templates, no disappearing after launch. Just two guys who know their craft, know their town, and believe that a great website shouldn't cost a fortune.
